Avec la sortie de MySQL 9.7.0 LTS, Oracle veut aussi envoyer un message à la communauté open source : MySQL Community Edition n'est pas morte et continuera à évoluer après une longue période sans aucune mise à jour. Durant la FOSDEM 2026, l'éditeur voulait déjà rassurer. MySQL 9.7 ajoute des fonctions à la version communautaire. Ces fonctions étaient jusqu'à présent uniquement pour les versions commerciales : plusieurs fonctionnalités liées à la réplication, à la télémétrie. Ainsi, on pourra mieux superviser la réplication, comprendre les groupes de réplication. Oracle annonce aussi la disponibilité d'HyperGraph Optimizer dans la Community Edition.

• MySQL Connectors (ODBC, JDBC, .NET, etc) for building applications in multiple languages
• MySQL Workbench for visual modeling, SQL development and administration
